Incident Overview
The Team was activated to help extract two injured hikers in the area of the Tunnel Springs trail. The hikers started their day around 0830, were planning to be done around noon, but were not off of the mountain until about 23:00. The hikers were lost prior to team activation, but were able to relay GPS coordinates from one of their phones to another individual, which significantly expedited rescue efforts. The hikers were in rugged area of terrain off of the trail, and had to be assisted back down to the trail utilizing rope techniques. Both hikers were ambulatory and were able to return home after the incident.
